Road Safety Awareness Programme was held on Wednesday (31-August)2016.‘Safety first’ is ‘safety always’ – Charles. M. Hayes.
To make the present generation aware of safety measures on road is the need of the time. An awareness programme on the road safety measures was arranged in Ebenezer Marcus International School & Junior college. The traffic inspector Mr. Perumal was the chief guest for the programme. He spoke on the measures to be taken for accident free roads. People in the modern world are using their personal transportation, which has resulted in more traffic on the roads. Road accidents have become very common due to the vehicle collisions and ignorance of proper road safety measures. It is very important to educate children by incorporating basic road safety rules. Learning about traffic lights and signs contribute significantly in this regard. Children should pay attention while walking on the road and must use zebra crossing to cross the roads. Children should educate their parents to use helmet while driving two wheelers and the persons occupying the front seats in cars must wear seat belts. Life is precious and to prevent accidents, using mobiles and ear phones while crossing the road or rail tracks must be avoided. Road safety is life safety.
